- Windhoek - German colonial capital. A fairly green pleasant city to walk around with lots of gardens, parks, architectural reminders of its colonial past.
- Lüderitz - A Bavarian village on the barren windswept coast of Namib Desert, home to seals, penguins, flamingos and ostrichs.
- Fish River Canyon National Park - A breathtaking park, which is remisicent of the Grand Canyon. Picnics sites, camp grounds, walking trails. A five day Fish River Hiking Trail during May - August is fun.
- Etosha National Park - well known and interesting game reserve in the world. Home to more than 3000 species of birds and large animals like elephant, giraffe, zebra, leopard, cheetah, lion, kudu, black-faced impala, black rhino and hyena.
- Swakopmund - A four hour drive from Windhoek, a german colonial place with plenty of old German-style buildings, a number of beer gardens and a brewery.
