Encompasses all, sea and mountain, waterfall and desert, Jordan is waiting to be explored. For a surprisingly small country, Jordan has lots to offer. Petra, an ancient rose-colored city is one of the Middle East's greatest historical and architectural treasures. Jerash an astonishingly well preserved, 2,000-year-old Greco-Roman ruin with its hundreds of columns, temples and streets are worth at least a half day's exploration. Wadi Rum with dramatic desert scenery and amazing canyons can be explored in 4WD or on a camel. The Red Sea is a must for avid divers and snorkellers with spectacular coral reefs and fishes. A swim in the Dead Sea gives the strangest feeling of floating effortlessly, something everyone should experience.
