Once a city of medieval splendour, Nuremberg has the dubious distinction of being the ideological centre of the Third Reich. Today, a symbol of post-war prosperity, Nuremberg has plenty to offer. The walled Alstadt (Old City) is alive with street music, pop concerts and the month-long Christmas market is worth planning for. A must-see are the museums, churches and the Albert Durer House.
